The Crusaders battled while working on a new rotation due to an injury but ran out of gas in the 5th set after winning two long games in sets three and four. Coon Rapids Bayard dropped the first two sets, playing well enough to push the Spartans to the edge in set two. That momentum helped propel them into the third set, which they won 26-24. They continued to work hard in the fourth set and edged the Spartans 28-26. The hard work to come back from down two sets to tie the match might have drained their energy level as the Spartans dominated set five.
Breeley Clayburg led the Crusaders at the net with 13 kills, Brynn Bass also had a good night swinging as she finished with 9 kills. Gracy Johnson had to work as the lone setter most of the night and finished with 20 assists. Brynn Bass had a team high 12 digs, Lacie Davis had 11 digs. Mallory Leighty was strong defensively at the net and had a team high 4 blocks.
The loss drops Coon Rapids Bayard to 6-13 overall and 1-5 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They host Ar-We-Va on KKRL on Tuesday.

Audubon avenged a loss from a couple weeks ago in the opening round of the conference tournament, picking up a three set win over the Wolves. The Wheelers served aggressively and passed the ball well especially in sets one and three. IKM-Manning battled hard in set two and did some nice things, getting some of their hitters going. The Wheelers struggled in set two but were able to edge out the win to go up two sets to none.
Jaci Christensen had a big match for the Wheelers with 10 kills and 16 digs. Kylee Hartl played well in the back row and had a team high 17 digs to go with 5 aces. Audrey Jensen added a solid night in the back row with 12 digs. Aleah Hermansen had a balanced match with 5 kills, 9 assists and 9 digs. Addie Hocker continues her strong last few weeks with 7 assists, 7 digs and a team high 3 blocks.
IKM-Manning was led by Eryn Ramsey in the back row with 11 digs while Amber Halbur finished with 8 digs and 6 assists. Taylor Ferneding had a team high 7 assists. Bianca Cadwell had 7 digs to go with 3 kills tying with Megan Williams and Kylie Powers.
Audubon improved to 9-13 on the season and advanced into the 2nd round to play Treynor. IKM-Manning slipped to 1-24 on the season. The Wolves travel to Panorama for Regional play on Monday.

Audubon struggled in their second match of the night. They struggled with an aggressive Treynor serve, keeping them from being aggressive at the net. The Cardinals took advantage and were able to pull away in sets one and two. The Wheelers were a little better in the third set and hung a little closer.
Addie Hocker had 6 digs and 6 assists tying Aleah Hermansen who also had 6 assists. Jaci Christensen had a team high 5 kills and 9 digs. Kylee Hartl added 9 digs.
The loss drops the Wheelers to 9-14.
