Two Charged With Public Intoxication In Separate Incidents Over The Weekend

Two individuals were arrested and charged with public intoxication over the weekend. The first arrest occurred at approximately 11:36 p.m. on Friday when the Carroll Police Department received a report of a disturbance in the 700 block of Bella Vista Drive. Fifty-five-year-old Dr. Michelle Kay Ackerson of Fort Dodge was arrested and charged with public intoxication after recording a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) nearly two times the legal limit at .153. The second arrest, on Saturday, Oct. 9, occurred at approximately 11:04 a.m. when officers received a report of an intoxicated subject in the 500 block of N. Court Street. Fifty-six-year-old Douglas Lee Harms of Carroll recorded a BAC more than three times the legal limit at .250. He was also charged with public intoxication. Both Ackerson and Harms were booked into the Carroll County jail and later released from custody.
