Carroll Man Pleads Not Guilty To Sexual Abuse Charges; Trial Scheduled For January 2022

A Carroll man charged with three counts of felony sexual abuse filed not guilty pleas today (Wednesday) to the charges levied against him. According to Carroll County District Court records, 78-year-old Raymond John Miller faces three counts of second-degree sexual abuse, class B felonies, for allegedly having sexual contact with multiple juveniles between 2007 and 2015. Authorities say the victims were under the age of 12 when the crimes occurred. Miller’s trial has been scheduled to begin on Jan. 11, 2022 with a pretrial conference on Dec. 13. Each count carries a maximum penalty of up to 25 years in prison. Miller was released from custody at the Carroll County jail on Tuesday after posting a $25,000 appearance bond.
