Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Audubon Girls Cross Country Compete Well at Mount Ayr; Kuemper Competes at Hawkeye 10 Conference Meet Thursday

Girls Cross Country Results for Thursday, October 14th

 

Kuemper at Hawkeye 10 Conference Meet

 

Kuemper had some strong individual performances at the Hawkeye 10 Conference meet at Glenwood Thursday, including two top 25 finishes. 

 

Leading the Knights were Marie Dea and Julia Kanne. Dea was able to capture a 20th place finish at the Glenwood course with a final time of 20:59.56. Kanne was keeping close pace with Dea, finishing the course in 22nd place with a time of 21:05.54. Three other Knights grouped together and finished close with each other. Samantha Tidgren, Callie Ferneding, and Kaziah Janssen finished in 55th, 56th, and 57th respectively, completing the course within 10 seconds of each other. As a team, the Knights took home an eighth place finish with 210 points. Harlan won the meet with 55 team points. 

 

The joint boys and girls state qualifying cross country meets will take place on Wednesday October 20th and Kuemper will race at Winterset.

Audubon at Mount Ayr

 

Audubon had an overall successful day at Mount Ayr Thursday finishing the day with three top 10 finishes. 

 

Freshman Stefi Beisswenger had another impressive outing as she completed the course with a third place finish in 22:14.95. Hannah Thygesen was right behind Beisswenger as she captured a fourth place finish with a final time of 22:25.73. Finishing just inside the top ten was Grace Slater who ran well enough for a ninth place finish with a final time of 22:53.87. Autumn Zaiger was the final Wheeler to run at this meet and she finished the course with a final time of 27:19.95. Due to the Wheelers not having the required five runners competing, they did not have a team score. 

 

Audubon will have their state qualifying meets over at Panorama on Thursday, October 21st.
