Gov. Reynolds Extends Harvest Season Weight Limit Proclamation Through Nov. 14

Today (Friday), Gov. Kim Reynolds signed an extension to an earlier proclamation removing some restrictions on weight limits for the transportation of grain. Reynolds signed the initial order a month ago that allows vehicles transporting corn, soybeans, hay, straw, sileage and stover to be overweight on Iowa roadways without a permit so long as they do not exceed 90,000 pounds gross weight. This applies to all highways within Iowa, but excludes the interstate system and roads and bridges with specific posted limits. Loads cannot exceed the maximum axle weight limit by more than 12.5 percent and the maximum per axle weight limit of 20,000 pounds. The full proclamation, which is scheduled to expire on Nov. 14, can be found included below.
