Linda Lasher of Lidderdale

Linda Lavonne Lasher, age 83, of Lidderdale, IA, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City, IA, surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale with Pastor Robert Wagner officiating.  Organist for the service will be Ed Ludwig and soloist will be Briee Rohrig.  Casket bearers will be Linda’s grandchildren. Honorary casket bearers will be her nieces and nephews: Denise Schwab, Gaylan Schroeder, Lynnette Aschinger, and Dennis Obmann.  Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery near Lidderdale.

Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home from 5 – 7 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a prayer service held at 7 P.M.  The casket will be moved to Immanuel Lutheran Church at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Lutheran Family Services, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the Mayo Clinic – designated for Parkinson’s Disease Research.

Linda was born on March 26, 1938 on her family’s farm south of Wall Lake, IA, and she was the daughter of Verner and Dorothy (Rose) Obmann.  She was baptized on April 3, 1938 and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith on March 22, 1951 at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake.  She grew up on the farm and graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1956.  She attended beauty school in Council Bluffs and then operated a beauty shop in Wall Lake.  She was married to Larry Lasher on August 2, 1959 at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake.  The couple lived in Wall Lake for three years before moving to a farm northeast of Lidderdale and then to the Lasher family farm in 1971where they raised their family.  Linda operated a beauty shop in her home and was very active with the farming operation.  She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale where she was active with Ladies Aide, Altar Guild, LWML, the cook book committee, and taught Sunday school.  She also belonged to the BLBF Club.  She enjoyed baking, gardening, traveling, attending grandchildren’s activities, dancing, wintering in Alamo, Texas, and most of all spending time with her family.

Linda is survived by her husband Larry of Lidderdale; daughter Luann Lasher-Gregg (Jeff Gregg) of Cedar Falls; son Lance Lasher (Ann) of Charles City; son Lenny Lasher (Andrea) of Ft. Worth, TX; eight grandchildren: Jessica Thomson (Matt), Abby Brinkman (Justin), Allison Gregg, Kali Johnson (Jesse), Nate Lasher, Baron Lasher, Blaize Lasher, and Bryce Lasher; a sister Joyce Schroeder (Gary) of Manning; and four nieces and nephews. 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Verner and Dorothy Obmann; her father and mother-in-law Daniel and June Lasher; and a brother Fred Obmann and his wife Marilyn.
