Carroll Volunteer Fire Department Asks For Your Help As 2021 Fundraiser Is Cancelled Due To COVID Risk

The Carroll Volunteer Fire Department is again making a change to their annual fundraiser, the Fireman’s dance. 2020 was the 98th year and it had to be cancelled because of the COVID pandemic. The door-to-door sales of tickets didn’t happen, and according to Fireman, Dan Hannasch, because of the increase in cases related to the Delta variant, they have shifted the format again to keep everyone as safe as possible.

Volunteer Firefighter, Brad Ruhnke says this equipment is not the preferred choice for obvious reasons.

This is the only fundraiser the Carroll Fire Department holds on an annual basis, and though the format has changed, their needs have not. Those brave men and women rely on the generosity of this community to help them keep residents and property as safe as possible in many other ways. Hannasch says the department members actually miss the face-to-face interaction with residents when selling tickets to their annual dance, and traveling throughout the city brings an added benefit.

This year, letters were sent out in water bills about three weeks ago on how to donate and they have a Venmo account where money can be immediately deposited. In addition, checks can be sent to the Fire Department. People can also talk to any one of the firemen for more details or to make a donation. The Venmo and Fire Department addresses are included below.
