Cretsinger says there are great leaders, educators and staff members at the school, but she wants to bring her response to a slant towards negativity she is seeing in the world today.

The smaller district is comprised of small communities, and Cretsinger says the challenges they face relate to the size of their student body and ability to attract and keep their quality educators.

Cretsinger is an assistant at Lewis Chiropractic and has two children in the Coon Rapids-Bayard district. Her daily role of helping others brings her a great deal of joy and she says those face-to-face interactions are so important to the children as they develop their basic abilities to communicate. Cretsinger outlines the attributes she will bring to the table as a board member.

Cretsinger also enjoys finances and says school budgets interest her. She has gained a great deal of knowledge about these and the general operations of the school board as she has attended the meetings over more than the past year. She has also learned a great deal from the district’s extremely talented and qualified board secretary who has earned her trust when it comes to learning and understanding school finance. Cretsinger adds the district, and most importantly the children, are lucky to have committed and passionate educators and staff members that truly care, and this is the key to their success going forward. When asked what Cretsinger wants all voters to know about her, she says it goes back to what she said earlier about being a mother and caring for the kids and much more.

Cretsinger has lived in Coon Rapids since she was in the fifth-grade, having only left the community for a few years with her husband, Jon, who is a Lt. with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. They have two children, Cole (13) and Emma (11). Carroll Broadcasting will bring you interviews with other CR-B board candidates in upcoming newscasts.
