CR-B Board Candidate, Mohr, Says His Campaign Is Founded On Crusader Pride And A Passion For The District

Another Coon Rapids resident is throwing his hat into the ring as one of five candidates bidding for three open Coon Rapids-Bayard Community School District Board of Education (CR-B) seats on the Nov. 2 ballot. Justin Mohr, who has spent 17 years with Mohr Lumber in Coon Rapids, says he has been a part of the district nearly all of his life. His family moved to the community when he was in grade school and he married another alum, Heather. The couple has two children, Griffin and Claire, who are both in the fifth grade. Mohr says running for the board has been on his mind for quite some time and it is really an extension of his belief in service to his community.

Mohr believes the board will be facing some of the same problems schools across the state and country are facing in the coming years.

Mohr says the implementation of 21st century education is clearly evident at CR-B and one of the highpoints for their students and a boon for their future careers.

As a board member, Mohr again points to his experience in construction and says having worked with many budgets is a big asset. This goes hand-in-hand with his strong communication skills.

He adds, being able to listen to people and find common ground is one of the most important attributes a board member can possess. Mohr wants all voters to know his campaign is all about pride and passion.

Mohr also serves as an assistant coach in the district, sits on the Parks and Recreation Board and assists with the community’s youth leagues. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from other candidates in upcoming newscasts.
