The Storm Lake Police Department reports a Lakeside man was taken into custody last (Thursday) night on felony drug charges. At approximately 11 p.m., authorities initiated a traffic stop in the 400 block of Flindt Drive for a minor traffic violation. During the stop, a K9 unit indicated to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as 18-year-old Joey Chanthavisouk, was arrested after authorities located marijuana packaged for sale along with other drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Buena Vista County jail and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a class D felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. As of this (Friday) afternoon, Chanthavisouk remained in custody on a $5,300 bond.
