Sac City Man Charged In Connection To Tool Thefts At ESC Elementary Construction Site

A Sac City man has been charged in connection to a series of thefts from a construction site at the East Sac County (ESC) Elementary School. The Sac City Police Department opened an investigation on July 16 after they received a report that tools valued at several thousand dollars were taken from the site. Another tool theft was reported on Sept. 28 with tools valued at several hundred dollars reported missing. Authorities executed a search warrant at 503 S. 13th Street and located the tools that had been taken. The investigation led law enforcement to 43-year-old Cole Thomas Long, who was taken into custody and charged with second-degree theft, a class D felony, and fifth-degree theft, a simple misdemeanor. The Sac County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
