With the recent Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval on the use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children five to 11, Carroll County Public Health (CCPH) is reminding residents about the protocols in place. The children’s series follows that of those previously approved for adults, with two doses administered weeks apart. The COVID vaccine can also be given at the same time as any other routine vaccinations, including the flu shot. Parents and guardians are encouraged to talk with their healthcare provider about the options available and to set up an appointment for their child to begin the vaccination process. The Pfizer vaccine, as well as the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines for adults, is available at Manning Regional Healthcare Center, the McFarland and St. Anthony Clinics and at the Carroll Apothecary, Hy-Vee, Lincoln Highway, Manning, Walgreens and Walmart pharmacies.
