Building Move On Monday In Glidden Will Lead To Planned Power Disruption For Residents

City officials in Glidden are reminding residents there are two planned power outages scheduled for next week to facilitate the relocation of a residence in town. Beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, crews from Heartland Construction will be loading a large home that currently sits just north of U.S. Highway 30 onto a trailer and moving it to an acreage about a mile south of town. They will head south on Idaho Street, then east on 1st Street before heading south again on Timber Avenue to reach their final destination on 220th Street. Due to the size of the structure, the north feed power lines will be disconnected at approximately 9:15 a.m. Electrical service should be restored for affected homes and businesses around 10 a.m., but then structures on the east feed will be turned off. It is unclear how long power will remain disconnected there, but officials suggest it will be at least two hours. Residents are asked to avoid parking vehicles on Idaho Street Monday to help limit how long power will be disrupted. They thank residents for their patience and understanding during the planned service interruption.
