Nomination Window Open To Recognize Teachers Who Use Agriculture To Instruct

Nominations are being accepted now through mid-November for recognition of area instructors who are integrating agriculture into their classrooms. The Iowa Excellence in Teaching About Agriculture Award, through the Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation (IALF), is open to teachers in preschool through 12th grade and will highlight their efforts to teach about the importance of food and agriculture. The winner will be selected and announced in December. The selected teacher will receive $500 to support their classroom efforts and $1,000 to cover expenses to attend the 2022 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference from June 28 through July 1, 2022 in Saratoga Springs, New York. Last year’s winner, Rhonda Osborn, continues her work to integrate agriculture into reading curriculums and other student activities at Des Moines Christian School, where she teaches fourth-grade.
