City officials in Vail are advising residents of their plans to flush hydrants later this week and some customers may experience inconsistencies in their water service. Flushing is expected to last all day on Wednesday, Nov. 10 to clear rust and mineral deposits from the mains. Residents may notice dark- or rust-colored water or low water pressure at times. While this water is safe for consumption, officials recommend residents avoid running laundry to prevent unwanted stains. Discolored water can be cleared by turning on faucets in your home and allowing them to flow until the color dissipates. Anyone with questions can contact Vail City Hall at 712-677-2210.
