Holiday Season Officially Begins In Glidden With Arrival Of Community Tree Monday Morning

The Christmas season officially arrived in Glidden this week with Monday’s installation of the community’s 2021 Holiday Tree. The tree is set up in its traditional location near downtown at the intersection of W. 2nd and Idaho Streets. City officials thanked Larry Bruggeman of Glidden for the generous donation of that tree, which stands at over 20 feet tall. Residents are invited to stop by Glidden City Hall to pick up ornamental bulbs to decorate with their families and then hang on the tree. These can be picked up for free in the hallway between the library and city offices during regular business hours. The formal tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 5 during Glidden’s annual Winter Wonderland celebration. Officials ask motorists use increased caution when traveling near downtown while the tree is standing.
