The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education has selected a company to conduct a long-term needs assessment for the district’s facilities. Superintendent, Dr. Casey Berlau, says they recently submitted RFPs to multiple firms for the project and received five responses. He explains the scope of the study.
A committee reviewed the five submitted proposals and narrowed those down to two companies: FRK Architects and the DLR Group. School officials conducted interviews with the representatives from each firm last week and met in a special session this (Monday) afternoon to make a final determination. According to Berlau, DLR was the low bid at $28,000, with FRK’s at $28,500. Board member, Duane Horsley, says several aspects of DLR’s proposal set them apart.
Berlau notes this is not a contract for any specific project or area. DLR will simply evaluate the district’s facilities and make recommendations. Berlau says he is expecting a quick turnaround.
The board voted unanimously in favor of DLR’s proposal. School officials will return to the topic of facilities when the assessment is completed as part of their long-term facility management plan.
