Bill Renwanz of Jefferson

Bill Renwanz, age 59, of Jefferson, IA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

   Funeral service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Scranton Community Center in Scranton, IA, with Chaplain Angelo Luis officiating.

   Visitation will be held at the Scranton Community Center from 3 – 5 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service.

   Bill was born on January 28, 1962 in Omaha, NE, and he was the son of Harlan and Kay (Hastings) Renwanz. He grew up in Omaha until he was thirteen years old when his family moved to their farm south of Scranton.  He graduated from Scranton High School in 1980 and then attended college and married his high school sweetheart Terri Park on August 21, 1982.  The couple lived in Ankeny and attended DMACC where he studied Agricultural Business.  Bill and Terri moved back to Scranton following college where he farmed and worked for Northrup King which later became Syngenta.  He has worked as a rural postal carrier for the past 17 years and farmed with his dad.  Bill dearly loved his family and especially enjoyed summer trips to Okoboji.  They also enjoyed the trips they took to Aruba, Cabo San Lucas, Hawaii, and Las Vegas. Grandpa Bill never missed his grandkids events and activities.  He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes Fan.

     Bill is survived by his wife Terri of Jefferson; his children and their families all of Jefferson: daughter Tori Gettler (Alex); son Cody Renwanz (Leah); and son Blake Renwanz; four grandchildren: Alaina, Brady, Brooks, and Hayes; his mother Kay Renwanz of Scranton; a sister Karla King of Adaza, IA; three sisters-in-law: Kathy Geuss (Eric) of Nashville, TN, Trish Monthei of Panora, and Jan Kirschman (Rick) of Ankeny; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     Bill was preceded in death by his father Harlan Renwanz; his father and mother-in-law Robert and Carol Park; two grandsons in infancy: Liam and Noah; and several other extended family members.
