Audry Troutman of Coon Rapids

Audrey Kay Troutman, age 79, of Coon Rapids passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.

     Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids with Rev. Joyce Webb officiating.  Music for the service will be by Lula Garnes as organist and Dakota Andersen as soloist. Casket bearers will be Audrey’s grandchildren and step-grandchildren.   Burial will be in the Union Township Cemetery near Coon Rapids.

    Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids from 5 – 7 P.M. on Monday.  The casket will be moved to the church at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M. prior to the service.

    The family requests facemasks be worn by those in attendance at the visitation and the funeral service.

     Audrey was born on August 10, 1942 in Carroll, IA, and she was the daughter of Gerald and Bethel (Johnston) Goodwin.  She grew up on her family’s farm north of Coon Rapids, and she graduated from Coon Rapids High School 1959.  She began working for the Garst and Thomas Seed Company at age 16 where she worked for 46 years retiring in 2005.  Audrey was married to William Andersen on December 21, 1960 at the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids.  To this union two children were born Karla and Kevin.  William passed away in 1995 and Audrey was later married to Gary Troutman on March 15, 1997.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids for 68 years.  Audrey enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, flower gardening, mowing the lawn, keeping her house immaculate, and most of all spending time with her family.  Christmas was her favorite time of year, having over 30 Christmas trees in her home one year.  She spent hours decorating and baking her famous Christmas goodies.

     Audrey is survived by her husband Gary of rural Coon Rapids; her daughter Karla Naylor (Chris) of Scranton; son Kevin Andersen of Fairfield, IA; five grandchildren: Alisha Lauffer (Courtney), Jenny Rohrbeck (Tyler), Nicole Bills (Bob), Wyatt Andersen, and Dakota Andersen; eight great-grandchildren: Adam, Landon, Bristol, Ryan, Colton, Macy, Alexa, and Kate; three step-children: Deb Starcevich (Don) of Altoona, Denise Simpson (Marty) of Des Moines, and Dawn Buhr of Des Moines;  five step-grandchildren: Trent Simpson (Ali), Kyle Starcevich (Meg Warren), Luke Starcevich (Tori Giudici), Nick Simpson (Susie Gaul), and Shane Starcevich. Audrey is also survived by a sister Rita Malcom (Alan) of Coon Rapids; her in-laws: Loretta Rummelhart (Roger) of Coon Rapids, Karen Colbert (Jerry) of Coon Rapids, Elaine Andersen of Coon Rapids; Peg Eason (Bob) of Scranton, Mary Mench (Merle) of Hastings, MN, Carol Golwitzer (Butch) of Dedham, David Troutman (Roxanne) of Yale; and many nieces and nephews.

     Audrey was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Bethel Goodwin; a sister Janice June in infancy, and her husband William in 1995.
