Gov. Kim Reynolds has extended a proclamation that relaxes restrictions on harvest-related transportation through the end of the year. The proclamation allows vehicles transporting corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage or stover to be overweight, not to exceed 90,000 pounds gross weight, without a permit through Jan. 1, 2022. Loads must not exceed the maximum axle weight limit determined under the non-primary highway maximum gross weight table by more than 12.5 percent or the legal maximum axle weight limit of 20,000 pounds. Drivers must still comply with all posted limits on roads and bridges. The proclamation applies to all highways within Iowa but excludes the interstate system. The full proclamation can be found included below.
