Only Possible Minor Injuries In Two-Vehicle Accident Causing An Estimated $30,000 In Damages Thursday

Only suspected minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident that caused an estimated $30,000 in damage on Thursday. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on U.S. Highway 30 east of Carroll near Central Church at approximately 5:20 p.m. The initial investigation revealed that 63-year-old Patricia Lee Petersen of Carroll was westbound on Highway 30 in a 2021 Ford Edge. Also westbound, behind Petersen, was 30-year-old Kendra Sue Kelso of Carroll in a 2014 Dodge Journey. Petersen was slowing for a vehicle making a left-hand turn into the church parking lot. Kelso told authorities she did not notice the Edge slowing and struck it from the rear. Kelso reported possible minor injuries but was not transported for treatment. There was an estimated $10,000 in damage to the Petersen vehicle and $20,000 to the Journey. Kelso was cited for failure to reduce speed to a reasonable and proper rate.
