Students at Kuemper Catholic Schools are busy practicing in preparation for seasonal celebrations, with the first annual Christmas concert scheduled for this week. President, John Steffes, says the pandemic necessitated some changes that they continue to implement today.
This Thursday, Dec. 9, is the sixth through 12th-grade band and seventh through 12th-grade choir concert beginning at 7 p.m. The kindergarten and second-grade concert is at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 13 and first and third graders will perform at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday Dec. 15. Optional kindergarten concerts will be held during the school day, at 10 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Thursday Dec. 16. That same evening the fourth, fifth and sixth grades will host their concerts beginning at 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. respectively. The seasonal concerts close out with the preschool at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17. The administration, faculty, staff and students are also celebrating Advent, which began on Sunday, Nov. 28 and runs through Friday, Dec. 24.
There are special masses and reconciliation scheduled throughout Advent. A link to the full calendar and details for livestreaming can be found below. Steffes also thanks another group, who spreads a great deal of joy during the holidays and throughout the year, for all of their hard work. The Kuemper Foundation also organized the staff Christmas party that was held this past weekend.
Kuemper’s Christmas break will begin on Thursday, Dec. 23 and classes will resume on Monday, Jan. 3.
