The City of Glidden is excited to announce residents will be able to dine with their friends and neighbors in-person during the annual Community Christmas Dinner. The meal is sponsored by the Glidden Community Auction and will be hosted from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 25 at the Lincoln Club. They were forced to transition to a drive-thru event for 2020’s meal due to the pandemic, but Administrator, Brooke Peterson, says they are giving people an option this year.
Peterson says participants can expect a traditional Christmas menu with all the fixings. There is no cost to join in the community dinner, but organizers will be accepting free-will donations to support local programs. Peterson says they are also accepting donations of desserts from community members to be served after the meal.
Organizers ask that residents interested in attending make their reservations no later than noon on Monday, Dec. 20.
Reservations and dessert donations can be arranged by calling Glidden City Hall at 712-659-3010. Again, the Glidden Community Christmas Dinner is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 25 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Lincoln Club.
