Details have been released on a single-vehicle property-damage accident that occurred on Sunday but was not reported until Monday morning. According to an affidavit from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place at 280th Street near Sycamore Avenue, northwest of Coon Rapids, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday. The initial investigation revealed 32-year-old Jared Michael Bielenberg of Coon Rapids was eastbound on 280th when he lost control of the 2009 Toyota Camry he was driving. Bielenberg’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole before coming to rest in the south ditch. The impact caused the utility pole to snap. No injuries were reported but there was an estimated $6,500 in damage to the Camry and it is estimated it will cost approximately $1,500 to replace the broken utility pole.
