City officials are inviting residents to join them in celebrating the holiday season this weekend with fun, games and prizes. From 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Wall Lake Library, participants can join in the gingerbread house decorating contest. Then at 11 a.m., the Wall Lake Community Club will begin serving soups at the Community Center for a donation of a non-perishable food item. Santa Claus will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to meet with children and hand out gift bags while the Wall Lake Fire Department will be offering rides in their firetrucks. The drawing for the second annual Community Center Christmas Raffle is scheduled for approximately 12:30 p.m. with prizes donated from local businesses and residents, including: pool and fitness center passes, tickets to 2022 Iowa/Iowa State games and much more. Tickets are still available for $5 each, $10 for three or $30 for 10 and can be purchased at city hall, the community center, Westside Bank, Bank Midwest, Albrecht Oil & Feed or by calling 712-830-6296.
