An Audubon woman is one of 21 business owners to graduate from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. Jen Miller, owner of Interior Painting Plus, and her fellow graduates were members of the sixth cohort of the 12-week program in Iowa. These small business owners from across the state are now among a statewide alumni network of more than 160 individuals and more than 12,000 program alumni nationwide. “This program has gone above and beyond my expectations, says alum, Heather Brown, owner of Night Dive Swimwear. “Coming through this program, I’ve learned so much from the other small business owners I’ve been able to meet. We’ve celebrated each other’s successes, supported each other during setbacks and I know I’ll always have this group I can count on as we all move forward and grow our businesses with the knowledge we’ve gained.” Nationwide, nearly 67 percent of business owners that have completed the program report an increase in revenue within just six months of graduation and 47 percent report an increase in net new jobs.
