Both Drivers Transported For Treatment After Head-On Collision Wednesday Near Schleswig

Two drivers were injured following a head-on collision north of Schleswig Wednesday afternoon. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 4:36 p.m. on Highway 59 near the intersection with A Avenue. Authorities say 35-year-old Austin Wulf of Denison was traveling southbound in a 2006 GMC Envoy and crossed the centerline into the path of a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 28-year-old Beth Weber of Mapleton. Both drivers were transported to Crawford County Memorial Hospital by Crawford County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene. There is an ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision.
