The end of this year also marks the end of long-term relationship for all of us here as News Director, Chantelle Grove leaves our broadcasting family.

(As said) “Today marks my “official” last day with Carroll Broadcasting Company. And after nearly seven years of waking up early with the listeners in our region, this change is a difficult one to make.
Most people probably don’t imagine the role of News Director as one that elicits a lot of smiles. It is a routine part of the job to have to talk about some very difficult subjects and to make every effort to deliver the facts in a way that also exudes the sense of empathy and compassion we feel for those suffering a tragedy of any kind. It is also a routine part of the job to report on some of the less savory aspects of the human existence, which includes the intentional harm some do to others.
But I can honestly say there was not a day that went by that was not filled with laughter, camaraderie and the assurances I am surrounded by true friends, both within these walls and beyond.
To the people I work with who have shared their lives with me and brought forth that laughter, on and off the air, I can’t say thank you enough. You will all be missed and I am hopeful that our friendships don’t dissolve, but evolve.
To my sources and friends, my job could not have been done without all of you. There are many I have gotten to know on a personal level and I cherish those friendships. I can honestly say, a simple cup of coffee just won’t be the same anymore.
To the listeners (and dare I say fans?), you are the driving force behind everything I have done as News Director. The goal is to bring you the news without inserting any of my own implicit biases and to leave the editorializing to others. My hope every day is that you would take that information and use it to make your own informed opinions and decisions. The biggest compliment you could ever give this news person is that the work done has been fair, impartial and relevant.
Our news department often hears from fans, those who are pleased with our coverage and those who are not, but you should know that no matter what you have to say, we are always listening and we appreciate the feedback—both good and bad.
But another part of human nature is speculation and, dare I say, gossip. Let me be the first to dispel some rumors. I am not moving to Illinois or Oklahoma. I am not becoming an NFL cheerleader and I don’t think I am being placed in witness protection. I am staying right here. This my home. I am simply shifting my work focus slightly.
So for those of you who are unhappy that your name has made an appearance in a newscasts for an “alleged” legal infraction, your lawyers can now contact Nathan Konz instead.
For everyone else, thank you for making this more than just a job. For making it one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
This is your former News Director, Chantelle Grove, wishing you all a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, and may your good news far outweigh the bad.”
