Linda Hoogestraat of Carroll

Linda Hoogestraat, age 73, of Carroll, died Friday, December 24, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Maple River.  A livestream will be provided on the Sharp Funeral Home YouTube page, and on her obituary at
www.sharpfuneral.com. That link will be provided by 10 a.m. on Thursday.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Home.  Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll and online

Linda the daughter of John and Marian (Pille) Julich was born on April 23, 1948. She was raised on a farm outside of Carroll. She graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in 1966. After high school she graduated with an L.P.N. Degree.  She was married to Steven Hoogestraat on October 1, 1972 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. They lived in Ohio for three short years prior to moving back to Carroll before raising their three children: Tracy, Jeremy, and Amy. In addition to being a devoted homemaker she
also provided in home daycare for many children in the Carroll area for over 30 years.
Linda volunteered at New Hope Village Bargain Shop and later became a part-time employee at New Hope. She enjoyed preparing for and shopping at many garage sales. She was a former member of the Caroll Jaycee’s. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Left to celebrate Linda’s life are her children: Chris (Danielle) Dahm of Olympia, WA, Tracy Hoogestraat of Carroll, Jeremy (Tiffany) Hoogestraat of Carroll, and Amy Hoogestraat of Carroll; grandchildren: Austyn (Alisha) Dahm, Ciara Dahm, Cameron, Dahm, Maci Hoogestraat, Ella Melone, Olivia Melone; siblings: Mary Young of Vero Beach, FL, Helen (Tim) Wempe of Breda, Leo (Cassie) Julich of Houston, TX, Joe Julich of Carroll, and many other extended relatives and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents: Marian and John Julich, and her brother Ray Julich.
