Fort Dodge Associate Judge Chosen To Fill Vacancy In Judicial Election District 2B

Gov. Kim Reynolds has announced her latest appointment to Judicial Election District 2B. Derek Johnson of Fort Dodge, who is an associate judge in the district, has been chosen to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Gina Badding to the Iowa Court of Appeals. Johnson previously worked in private practice and served as the Humboldt County Attorney. Johnson received his bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University and law degree from the Drake University Law School. District 2B encompasses 13 counties, including: Calhoun, Carroll, Greene and Sac Counties.
