JoAnn Saddoris, age 86, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at her home in Carroll.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Pastor Lorinda Hoover officiating. Casket bearers will be grandsons, Brent Erickson, Tony Erickson, Gabe Kenne, Shane Kenne, Matt Saddoris, Austin Saddoris, Nick Bender, and Dustin Henson. A private family burial will be held at the Newell Cemetery in Newell, Iowa.
Visitation with the family will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll from 10:00 -10:45 A.M. on Thursday morning. Masks will be required for both the visitation and funeral service.

JoAnn, the daughter of Joe and Geneva (Gosch) Hansen, was born on October 14, 1935, in Arthur, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at the Congregational Church in Newell, Iowa. She attended Newell Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1953. She was then employed as a secretary at Faine and Olsen Chiropractic in Storm Lake for a few years.
On May 27, 1956, she was united in marriage to Darvin Saddoris at the Congregational Church in Newell. They were blessed with 4 children. She was a homemaker raising their children and also helped Darvin on the farm with the daily chores. In 1990, they moved to Arnolds Park, Iowa where they resided until making Carroll home in 2009.
JoAnn was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Newell and was involved in the Ruth Circle and was a current member of the First United Methodist Church in Carroll. JoAnn always had a large flower and vegetable garden and enjoyed canning the produce she reaped. She was an avid reader with “Chicken Soup for the Soul” books being her favorite. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing but most of all she loved to spend time with her family.
JoAnn is survived by her husband Darvin Saddoris of Carroll; her children: Linda (Alex) Erickson of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Melody (Kris) Kenne of Omaha, NE, Carla Saddoris of Omaha, NE, and Larry (Margaret) Saddoris of Jefferson, IA; her grandchildren: Brent (Carmon) Erickson of Omaha, Katie (Brad) Ferbert of Lee’s Summit, MO, Tony Erickson of Omaha, Gabe Kenne of Lexington, SC, Shane (Catherine) Kenne of Florissant, CO, Sara (Chad) Melotte of Waterloo, WI, Abby (Bowe) Oliver of Parker, CO, Dustin (Ashley) Henson of Spirit Lake, IA, Nick (Lyndie) Bender of Urbandale, IA, Cassie (Brian) Nalean of Beaver, IA, Austin (Jolee) Saddoris of Grand Junction, IA, Emma Saddoris and Matt Saddoris both of Jefferson; 18 great grandchildren; sister Norma Johnson of Storm Lake, IA; sister-in-law Carol Hansen of Sac City, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Gale Hansen; brother-in-law Delbert Johnson; and sister-in-law Marva Jean Saddoris.
