An Ida Grove man accused of stealing equipment from a construction site in Carroll last spring has been scheduled for trial in March. According to Carroll County District Court records, 38-year-old Craig Douglas Vanosdol pled not guilty earlier this month to one count of second-degree theft, a class D felony with habitual offender enhancements. Authorities say Vanosdol stole approximately $9,000-worth of tools from contractors at the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) construction site by removing an equipment trailer from the property. The charge potentially carries harsher penalties due to multiple prior felony convictions for theft, burglary and drug trafficking. Vanosdol’s trial is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 22 with a pretrial conference slated for Feb. 24.
