Ronald Siepker of Overland Park, Kansas

Ronald William Siepker, age 80, died Sunday, January 23, 2022, at home in Overland Park, Kansas.  He died of cancer surrounded by his loving family.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at St. Lawrence Church- St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Patrick Behm. Music will be by Kathy Halbur.  Lectors will be David Siepker and Sister Janet Siepker FSE. Gift Bearers will be Kathy Lenz, and Ann Ott. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll with military honors conducted by the Carroll American Legion.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. Wednesday morning at St. Lawrence Church.  Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left at www.sharpfuneral.com.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be distributed to the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist.
Ronald was born on July 2, 1941, in Carroll, Iowa, to Albert and Jeanette Siepker. He was raised on a farm and graduated Kuemper Catholic High School. Ron enlisted in the Navy in 1961, served aboard the USS Dixie, obtaining the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class-E5, and honorably discharged in 1967.  He worked for the State of Iowa for 34 years as supervisor for the Iowa Liquor Commission and auditor for the Iowa Department of Inspections & Appeals. Ron married Joyce Knudson October 28, 1991. They retired to Roswell, New Mexico for 14 years and at the urging of family moved to Overland Park to be near them. He enjoyed golfing, gambling, planning and traveling to his reunions with the USS Dixie.
Ron is survived by step-daughters Andrea Rogan (John) of Lenexa, Kansas, Alana Johnstone (Andy) of Milo, Iowa, and three Grandchildren, Aric, Jack, and Alexander. His siblings: Duane Siepker of Des Moines, IA, Sister Janet Siepker, FSE, of Falls Church, VA, Albert Jr (Rita) of Perry, IA, Kathy Lenz (Keith) of The Colony, TX, Gail Dentlinger (Don) of Carroll, IA, Suzanne Wyse (Ben) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Chris Siepker (Marilyn) of Carroll, IA, Ann Ott (Ed) of Carlisle, IA, David Siepker (Felicia) of Plano, TX, brother in law, Paul Klocke, and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife Joyce April 8, 2018, parents, Albert and Jeanette (Lechtenberg) Siepker, siblings: Roy, Dean, Allen, Ken, Karen Lhotka, Mary Klocke, and Donna.
