Formal Charges Filed Against Carroll Man Accused Of Unauthorized Placement Of GPS Device

Trial information was filed last week against a Carroll man accused of using a GPS device to track another person’s movements. According to Carroll County District Court records, 45-year-old Kevin John Nepple is charged with third-degree criminal mischief, an aggravated misdemeanor, and trespassing and unauthorized placement of a global positioning device, serious misdemeanors. The charges stem from a Dec. 15 incident in the 200 block of Ridgewood Drive. A Carroll Police Department affidavit says Nepple forced his way into a residence, causing several hundred dollars in damage to an exterior door. Authorities say he then hid a GPS tracker to monitor the movements of the victim. Nepple was released from custody after appearing before a magistrate. His arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 10.
