A Christmastime fundraiser for breast cancer awareness has garnered enough support to continue more than five weeks after the holiday. On Monday morning, the “Boozy Grinch” appeared outside of the Carroll Broadcasting studios. The large green spool has made its way around the listening area in recent months and was created by Steve Klocke of Dedham. He explains how this unique fundraising plan came to life.
He says it was originally just a way to have fun, but that changed when several of Klocke’s friends were diagnosed with breast cancer
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation one in eight women will have breast cancer in their lives, and in 2021 an estimated 281,550 cases were discovered. Klocke says this is a fundraiser everybody can get behind.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women except for skin cancer. If you would like to donate to the cause, visit Carroll Broadcasting, take a selfie with the Grinch and share it online or/and drop off a donation inside our office open Monday – Friday 8am to 4:30pm.
