Iowa’s Fourth District U.S. Representative, Randy Feenstra, has been named the Republican leader of the House Research and Technology Subcommittee. This subcommittee is part of the full Science, Space and Technology Committee, which oversees most legislation and federally funded scientific research not related to national defense. Feenstra has served on the committee in the minority since his election in 2020. He says, “I am humbled to be named the Republican Leader of the Research and Technology Subcommittee. Over the last several years, we have witnessed incredible advancements in science and technology that have improved the lives of millions of people and spurred economic growth in Iowa and across the country. From precision agriculture and biofuels development to energy independence and fair trade, technological innovation and cutting-edge research touches every sector of our economy and helps us compete with the growing threats of China and Russia.” Feenstra was selected to lead Republicans in the subcommittee by Oklahoma Congressman, Frank Lucas, who is the ranking member of the full committee.
