DNR Season Recap Meetings Begin Next Week Across Iowa

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is set to begin their annual hunting season recap and rule change meetings next week. Nineteen public meetings will be held between Feb. 21 and Feb. 24, including two here in the region. Both are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jefferson meeting will be held at the Depot near the Raccoon River Trailhead at 507 E. Lincoln Way, and the Sac City seminar is at the Hagge Park Conservation Center. DNR Wildlife Bureau Chief, Todd Bishop, says, “We want people to come out to these meetings, listen to the seasons reviews, ask questions and hear directly from our staff. Part of the meeting will be devoted to discussing potential rule changes and collecting feedback as we work through the rules process.” These meetings are open to the public and comments received will be reviewed by DNR staff prior proposing changes to existing regulations. The dates, times and locations for all scheduled meetings can be found included below.
