A Storm Lake teenager faces felony charges after allegedly breaking into a home and assaulting a juvenile occupant. The Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the Storm Lake High School on Friday to speak with the reporting party. The individual told law enforcement a 16-year-old male had entered the residence in the 1000 block of Park Street through a bedroom window at approximately 9 p.m. the previous evening. The victim reports they confronted the suspect, which led to a struggle prior to the male fleeing the scene on foot. The 16-year-old juvenile was located at a residence in Lakeside at approximately 3 p.m. on Friday and taken into custody. He was transported to the Buena Vista County jail and charged with first-degree burglary, a class B felony. The suspect’s name has not been released due to his status as a juvenile, but authorities say he was held on a $50,000 bond. The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the investigation.
