Gov Reynolds Ordered All Flags Lowered the Half-Staff Today

Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered all flags in Iowa to half-staff today (Wednesday) in honor fallen Army Private First Class (PFC), Don Dowler Jr. of Clarinda. Dowler was accounted for in Sep. 2021. He was reported missing in action in Dec. 1950 after his unit was attacked near Chosin Reservoir, North Korea. Reynolds ordered to lower the flag through sunset today. Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Buildings, flag displays in the Capitol Complex, on all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly flags at half-staff for the same length of time as sign of respect.
