Jefferson Police Department Investigates Reports Of Man Impersonating An Officer

The Jefferson Police Department is investigating reports of an unidentified male impersonating a law enforcement officer outside the Greene County Medical Center. Officers were dispatched at approximately 10:59 a.m. Monday in response to reports of a suspicious male in the facility’s parking lot. People entering the hospital informed staff that a male was sitting in an older police car and stopping people. Witnesses report the man claimed to be a police officer and was taking photos of the area. By the time authorities arrived, the individual had left the area in his vehicle.
