A Lake View man was taken into custody Thursday for possession of stolen property. The Sac County Sheriff’s office took a report from Morhs Concrete Sand and Gravel yesterday (Thursday). An estimated $12,000 in large diameter copper wiring was stolen around noon. Authorities say Security footage captured a 2011 Chevrolet truck, owned by Kevin Tjaden drive onto the property. Employees confronted Tjaden at his home prior to law enforcement arriving on scene. He left the area and was later stopped by deputies in Lake View and taken into custody. At 7:20 p.m. law enforcement served a search warrant at 2725 320th St., in Lake View in connection with the theft reported from Morhs. During the search, deputies seized large diameter copper wiring, clothing that was consistent with what the suspect was wearing during the theft and drug paraphernalia. Tjaden was arrested and charged with second degree theft control or possession of stolen property, a class D felony. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released Thursday. An investigation is still on going.
