No injuries were reported in three motor vehicle accidents that occurred over the weekend in Carroll. The Carroll Police Department was dispatched to the first on Friday morning at 7:53 a.m. at the Highway 30/71 intersection. Authorities say a 2006 Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 16-year-old male from Carroll, was traveling northbound on 71 and had stopped for a red light. A 2010 Ford Taurus, driven by a 15-year-old female from Carroll, failed to slow for traffic and collided with the Impala. Functional damage was reported to both vehicles, and the driver of the Ford was cited for failure to maintain control. Officers were dispatched at 3:51 p.m. to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Saturday at the intersection of Highway 30 and Griffith Road. According to law enforcement, a westbound 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 59-year-old Kevin Grundmeier of Carroll, was slowing for traffic when it was struck from behind by a 2013 Ford Edge, driven by 29-year-old Jacob Stewart of Scranton. Stewart was cited for following too closely, expired registration and no insurance. The final accident occurred at 10:36 a.m. Sunday morning at the intersection of 7th and Carroll Streets. The initial investigation determined 76-year-old Dorothy Smith of Carroll was attempting to park a 2005 Toyota Corolla when she accidently pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. The car then jumped a curb and struck a brick wall, eventually coming to rest in a residential yard.
