More than 30 Carroll (CHS) and Kuemper (KHS) students qualified for the Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA) state competition following the district contest held at Kuemper Catholic High School over the weekend. According to KHS Speech Coach, Deb Gute, 21 of her students performed on Saturday with 16 earning a “I”, or excellent, rating to advance. CHS Speech Coach, Bill Polking, says 16 of their 23 performers will advance. The IHSSA state event will be held on Saturday, March 12 at Woodbury Central High School in Moville.
