Gov. Reynolds Announces Actions To Show Support For Ukraine As Russia Continues Military Incursion

Yesterday (Monday), Gov. Kim Reynolds announced several measures to show support for Ukraine following the recent incursion by Russian forces into the former Soviet country. Reynolds directed the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division (ABD) to remove Russian-produced liquors from its wholesale purchase list. In Iowa, the government oversees and manages liquor purchases and has the authority to limit what brands of alcohol eventually make to retailers’ shelves. The products identified by the ABD are all vodkas, and the full list can be found at abd.iowa.gov. Additionally, Reynolds has called for Iowa Sister States, which includes regions in China, Kosovo, Taiwan, Italy, Japan and Mexico to end their relationship with their Russian counterpart in Stravopol Krai. Reynolds encouraged these partners to strengthen their ties with Iowa’s Sister State in Ukraine, Cherkasy Oblast.
