Iowa Lt. Gov., Adam Gregg, will be in Jefferson tomorrow (Wednesday) for the latest meeting of the Empower Rural Iowa task force on the issue of broadband connectivity for Iowans. The approximately hour-long meeting will begin at noon in RVP 1875 at 115 S. Wilson Ave. with only a few items on their agenda. Gregg will provide opening remarks for the task force before they hear from the Connecting Rural Iowa Co-Chair, Sandy Ehrig. They will then hear from a panel of recipients of the Rural Innovation Grants. Local awardees for Fiscal Year 2022 include the City of Manning, City of Lake View, City of Lake City and Sac Development Corporation. Nearly $250,000 has been awarded throughout the state so far this year.
