Paul Edward Olberding, age 74, of Glidden, Iowa passed away Monday February 28, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden at on Friday, March 4, 2022. Music for the service will be by Mary Ross. His grandsons (Tanner Macke, Drew Olberding, Kyle Olberding, Derek Blair, and Jason Bixenstine) and neighbor Shane Standley will serve as pallbearers. His “shop crew” (Steve Olberding, Gary Stapels, Gene Irlbeck, John Pluckhahn, Fuzzy Wenck, Cody Irlbeck) and Dan Braden will serve as honorary pallbearers. Burial will be in Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.
Visitation will be held at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday, March 3, 2022. Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 A.M. – 10:15 A.M. prior to the service.

Paul Edward Olberding was born on August 30th, 1947 in Carroll, Iowa to Orville and Agnes Olberding. He was raised in Carroll with his 3 siblings. At the age of 14, he helped his Dad build OK Automotive and learned the family’s trade. Paul graduated from Kuemper in 1965 and married Linda Lovell on April 16th, 1966. To this union of 55 years, they had 3 children. The family enjoyed countless summer days water skiing, tubbing, and jet skiing at their cabin in Lake View. In his early years, Paul also enjoyed tractor pulls with his boys.
Paul was a very hard-working mechanic who owned and operated OK Automotive (The Shop). He retired in April of 2021. He enjoyed spending time at his farm hunting, going on countless fishing trips, and taking his corvette and 65 Impala to car shows. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. One highlight was the boar hunting trip in Texas with Jason and his grandsons.
Heaven’s hoist lifted Paul to Heaven on February 28th, 2022. Left behind is his wife Linda Olberding, two sons Jeffrey and Jason (Robin) and a daughter Jennifer (Tony) Macke, five grandchildren Tiffany (Derek) Blair, Nicole (Jason) Bixenstine, Tanner Macke, Drew and Kyle Olberding, four great grandchildren Camdyn Macke, Tatum Blair, Elodie Bixenstine, Colt Blair, and another on the way, two brothers Jim of Lake City, Larry (Jemma) of Carroll and one sister Pat (Gary) Muggenberg) of Lake View. Paul was proceeded in death by his parents Orville and Agnes Olberding, parents-in-laws Roy and Edna Lovell, and the family’s miniature poodle Rambo.
