David Robert Bushman of Glidden

David Robert Bushman, age 74, of Glidden, IA, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. 

       A visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 5 – 7 P.M. At 6:30 P.M. Pastor Dean Curtis will offer a prayer and there will be a time for those who wish to share a special memory of Dave. 

       Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Lincoln Cemetery, located on the west end of the mile long bridge at Saylorville Lake.  

      Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com 

      Dave was the son of the late Robert and Marjorie Bushman of Glidden.  He was a 1965 graduate of Glidden –Rolston High School.  After college he joined the Air Force and served in the states as well as overseas.   

      His business career began with Pioneer Seed Corn in data communications.  He joined Green Holdings in1979 as the Director of Information Systems.   From 1989 to 1992 he served as VP Information Systems for General Growth Center Companies.  In 1992 – Present, he was President and CEO of D.R. Bushman & Associates, LLC. 

      In 1979, Dave married the former Dorothy Jobe of Des Moines. Together they had 4 children, Casey (Eric) Young, who was killed in an accident in 1995, Kevin (Jen) of Franklin TN, Beau (Jamie) of Cedar Rapids and Nicholas of Iowa City. He had 3 Grand Children, Jacob, US Navy, Jacksonville Fl, Kyrie, US Navy, Seattle WA, and Isabelle, US Air Force Alaska. Dave is a Great Grandpa of three. He has two sisters, Lora (Stan) Janssen and Janice (Jay) Baumhover. 

      Dave was a devoted husband and father. He loved horses, basketball, football and the Cubbies. As owner of the quilt shop Threads etc., he enjoyed and appreciated each quilt that came in.  Dave helped start and was the first President of the Dallas Center Soccer Club. Over the years he coached many soccer, softball and baseball teams. He was a board member of his church in Des Moines and was active in both church and community.
