The Manning Community Chest (MCC) is excited to announce they raised a record-breaking total in the 60th year of their annual fundraising drive. MCC Secretary, Diane Riggert says, “We were amazed by the generous support from our local community as we raised a total of $16,403 in donations. We are grateful to see the outpouring of community support once again and are fortunate to be able to grant this money to local, state, and national organizations.” More than 140 people contributed during the effort, with an average gift amount of $114. Local organizations to benefit from the funds include C-3, Main Street Manning, Manning Child Care Center, Manning Senior Center, Manning Cub Scouts, the Recovery Center, Mommy Marketplace, and the Manning Municipal Housing Agency. Ninety-six percent of the funds raised go to local organizations. The remaining four percent is allocated to state and national organizations. Area groups interested in receiving funding from the MCC 2022 campaign are asked to send in a request using the address included with this story on our website.
