Saturday Seminar At Carroll Library Will Help Parents Navigate Technology With Their Teens

The Carroll Public Library is hosting a family tech advisor for the second week in a row this weekend to help parents navigate the challenges of balancing cell phones, tablets, and computers during their children’s teenage years. The Saturday, March 12 program begins at 10:30 a.m. at the library and will be led by Andrea Davis, the founder of Better Screen Time. Library Director, Rachel Van Erdewyk, says this seminar will interest parents of middle school and high school students.

She says that question and more will be answered during Saturday morning’s approximately hour-long session. According to Van Erdewyk, Davis helps provide a framework for parents to develop rules that fit their individual households.

While similar to last weekend’s presentation, Saturday’s program focuses primarily on teens and tech. Van Erdewyk says the feedback from individuals who attended the first session was overwhelmingly positive.

She adds it also educates parents about their own tech habits. Again, Saturday’s session begins at 10:30 a.m. at the library. Registration is required, and the first 25 people to sign up will receive a free copy of Davis’ book, “Creating a Tech-Healthy Family.” Books will also be available for $5 each during the event. The link to register can be found included below.
