The Storm Lake Police Department reports they have made an arrest in connection to an investigation regarding illegal drug sales in the community. Authorities say 40-year-old Alma Culantro Thirkettle was taken into custody Monday in the 300 block of W. Milwaukee Avenue on an outstanding warrant from an investigation launched last fall. Officers booked her into the Buena Vista County jail on five controlled substance violation counts, which include class B, C, and D felonies. As of this (Thursday) morning, Thirkettle remains in custody on a $25,000 bond. Her preliminary hearing in Buena Vista County District Court is scheduled for March 18.
